The Waccatee Zoo is located at the south end of Myrtle Beach and is privately owned.
We had a serious debate over adding this zoo to the Myrtle Beach Kid's Stuff website.
On the one hand, the farm and herding animals were a a true delight; you and your kids can walk right up to these semi-tame animals and hand-feed them. It's a great experience for the family and kids throughout the Myrtle Beach Zoo were having a fantastic time.
There are plenty of nature trails throughout this Myrtle Beach kids attraction to explore. The park offers picnic areas, wagon rentals for the kids and of course, plenty of feed to offer the animals.
However, we were not happy with how the larger cats and bears were being kept. The cages were small and cramped and the animals seemed agitated. In our opinion, these animals need larger environments to live in and need some sort of enrichment program initiated.
